Right on cue for the first day of December, it began to snow in Cody, Wyoming. And it snowed and snowed...in front of the Buffalo Bill Historical Center I snapped this picture of a statue of a bear taking shelter by a pine tree. The blurry stuff in this picture is me playing with the soft focus of the photo enhancer. I tried to give this photo the same dream-like quality that this snowy day gave me...
Christmas is a time of activity. No matter how well prepared I am, it seems like the 'To Do' list gets bigger every year. So now...before I get caught up in the pace of things, I sat myself down and made a list of things that I really wanted to do this Christmas. I checked the local paper and the internet to see what concerts, plays and ballets were offered, and figured out what I would like to see. I got out a calendar and marked them down so I can actually ATTEND something this year, instead of reading about it in the newspaper a week after it happened.
Most community colleges have really good concerts this time of year, my husband and I went to the Vesper's Concert in Powell once and really enjoyed it. I thought that I might try the Silver Tea at the Methodist Church, and of course the Nutcracker.
Most local churches have their own special programs and celebrations, and whether you have young children or not, the children's Sunday School Christmas Program always touches your heart.
So in addition to your church celebrations, is there something that you might like to do that would make this holiday more memorable? A concert, a play? Lunch with a treasured friend, or an afternoon with a family member baking cookies? Driving around looking at Christmas lights listening to Bing, or maybe a quiet walk in the snow? Whatever it is, think about it now and plan the day...or else what you meant to do will be overwhelmed by that darned 'To Do' list, and your plans will have dissolved like the snowflakes that are hitting my window pane tonight.
